Local Plan Part 2 examination process

The Local Plan Part 2 was adopted by the council on January 16 2020. Further information on the examination of the Local Plan Part 2 is provided for reference below.

The draft Local Plan Part 2 Development Management Policies and Site Allocations Designations documents were submitted to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government on 18 May 2018. This marked the beginning of the examination in public phase.

An independent inspector considered the Local Plan and Proposals Map to determine whether they were sound, legally compliant and fulfilled the duty to cooperate. The Inspector's Report and documents in relation to the Examination can be found here:  

Hearing sessions

The hearing sessions for the Examination of the Local Plan Part 2 began on Tuesday 7 August and concluded on Thursday 9 August 2018. The venue was Committee Room 6 of the Civic Centre, High Street, Uxbridge, UB8 1UW. Documents relating to the hearing sessions can be found below:

The council received a Post Hearing Advice Note from the Inspector on 30 November 2018.

The council provided the following response to the Post Hearing Advice Note on 12 February 2019.

Post hearing consultation - proposed main modifications to the Local Plan Part 2

As noted within the Post Hearing Advice Note, the Inspector identified various changes he considers may need to be made to the Plan (known as 'Proposed Main Modifications') in order to make the Local Plan Part 2 a 'sound' plan. A consultation on these Proposed Main Modifications and supporting documents was undertaken between Wednesday 27 March 2019 and Wednesday 8 May 2019.

    This consultation was only on the Proposed Main Modifications and not other aspects of the Plan. The Main Modifications are proposed without prejudice to the Inspector's final conclusions on the Local Plan Part 2, which will take account of all representations submitted in response to this consultation. Any representations received not relating to the Proposed Main Modifications will not be forwarded to the Inspector. Please note that representations made cannot be treated as confidential.

    Planning inspector

    The Secretary of State appointed Independent Planning Inspector Jameson Bridgwater PGDIPTP MRTPI to conduct the independent examination into the soundness of London Borough of Hillingdon Local Plan Part 2.
