Duke of Edinburgh volunteering placement in our libraries
Whether you're working towards your Bronze or Silver Duke of Edinburgh (DofE), Hillingdon Libraries gives you the chance to connect with a wide range of individuals and groups to understand their needs and make a real difference in your wider community.
What you can expect
We want to offer you a full range of activities throughout your time with us.
As a DofE volunteer, you might do any of the following:
- help customers to find the resources they want
- undertake selected library routines and procedures

- help staff prepare and deliver library events and activities, such as Code Club, LEGO sessions and Chess classes.
This is a great opportunity to gain experience of working in a library, teamwork and engaging with members of the public.
We will be flexible and supportive, and staff will always be on hand to support you when you are volunteering in our libraries.
