Proposals

Proposals for a new modern library, community facility and 95 affordable homes at the former swimming pool and Falling Lane site in Yiewsley were approved by Hillingdon Council's Planning Committee in December 2023.

The proposals were shaped using feedback from residents to ensure local people would benefit and underwent some significant changes to address their feedback.

Plans

The plans are split across two locations will transform the brownfield land:

  • former Yiewsley Swimming Pool site at Otterfield Road will deliver 45 homes
  • Yiewsley Library site at Falling Lane will deliver 50 homes

A new larger library and community facility will also be created and a range of improvements carried out at Yiewsley Recreation Ground which borders the development site.

The land at the recreation ground will not be affected by the development, other than to deliver park improvements. As Metropolitan Open Land, the recreation ground will continue to be protected by planning policies.

Works

In November, the council appointed Bugler Developments to carry out the works at both sites and construction work will begin in early 2025.

This scheme will be delivered with the support of grant funding from the Greater London Authority.

We'll keep residents up to date as the construction progresses.
