ULEZ expansion legal challenge
In 2023, Bexley, Bromley, Harrow, Hillingdon and Surrey councils challenged TfL and the Mayor of London's decision to expand the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) to outer London boroughs with a Judicial Review.
Despite these efforts, the High Court determined that there was no legal impediment to the Mayor's expansion of ULEZ to outer London.
ULEZ Judicial Review costs
The total costs incurred by the council for its part in the coalition that brought a legal challenge against the ULEZ expansion were £147,853.20.
This equates to a cost of around just 48p per resident.
