Discounted broadband and mobile phone tariffs

To help with the cost of living, many broadband and mobile providers offer social tariffs to low-income households.

What are social tariffs?

Social tariffs are cheaper broadband and phone packages for residents who are eligible for certain benefits.

These tariffs are provided in the same way as standard packages but at a lower cost.

Examples of qualifying benefits

Qualifying benefits for social tariffs will vary between suppliers, but could include:

  • Universal Credit (all claimants)
  • Pension Credit (Guarantee Credit)
  • Employment and Support Allowance
  • Jobseeker's Allowance
  • Income Support
  • Housing Benefit
  • Personal Independence Payment
  • Disability Benefit
  • Attendance Allowance
  • Care Leavers Support
