Anti-social behaviour policy consultation

We're asking residents and Hillingdon council tenants to share their views on our draft anti-social behaviour policies. We want to hear your thoughts on how we handle anti-social behaviour (ASB) in Hillingdon.

What is ASB?

ASB is any action by someone that causes (or is likely to cause) harassment, alarm or distress to others who don't live with them.

There are different types of anti-social behaviour, including,

  • ASB targeted at a specific person or group
  • ASB that causes trouble, annoyance or suffering to a community
  • ASB that negatively affects the environment, such as public spaces or buildings.

ASB policies

The draft landlord and general ASB policies explain how we plan to reduce ASB in the area and how we will respond to ASB complaints. It will include sections on:

  • our policy statement
  • how we define ASB
  • reporting ASB
  • low-level ASB
  • noise
  • how we manage ASB casework
  • how we use mediation
  • working with others to resolve ASB

Landlord ASB policy

Our landlord service is introducing a new policy to help prevent and respond to ASB on our housing estates. Our  draft landlord ASB policy (PDF, 212 KB) explains how we will handle ASB that affects our tenants and leaseholders or is caused by them.

General ASB policy

We are also introducing a new policy to help prevent and respond to ASB across the borough. Our  draft general ASB policy (PDF, 353 KB) explains how we will handle ASB that does not relate to our housing estates or tenants.
