Unlock your potential - book an adult learning course today
Thursday 22 September 2022: Hillingdon Council has launched its new schedule of skills and training courses for adults, offered by Learn Hillingdon Adult Community Education, on its website.
Adults, aged over 19, can gain a qualification in maths, English, childcare, supporting teaching and learning, health and social care, be more confident with computers, or explore art, culture, music, ballroom dancing and life in general via the learning for yourself course - there's something for everyone.
The part time courses are held during the day, evening and weekends and enrolling online via the council's website is quick and easy.
Adult learning provides an opportunity to develop new skills, change career or get into employment. It can also unlock a new interest or hobby and support health and wellbeing.
Learning with Hillingdon can often lead on to even greater things, as was the case for adult learner Joanne Matthews, who returned to the classroom in her 50s, gained qualifications in maths, computing and mentoring and then went on to win a national Return to Learning award at this year's annual Festival of Learning.
Cllr Susan O'Brien, Hillingdon Council's Cabinet Member for Families, Education and Wellbeing, said: "Adult learning continues to go from strength-to-strength in Hillingdon and now, with our great new education centre, I think learners old and new will really enjoy the great courses we have on offer.
"Having the Learn Hillingdon prospectus online means you can browse the year's courses quickly and easily and get in touch to find out with any specific questions before you enrol.
"We also have a wide range of courses and workshops to help our residents get back into employment or develop new skills, as well as courses to help you relax, take better care of yourself and be creative."
