Summer Reading Challenge 2022

Every year, the Summer Reading Challenge encourages and supports children to enjoy a summer of brilliant books. The challenge run from Saturday 9 July to Sunday 11 September and 4 to 11-year-olds can join free in any Hillingdon Library.

About this year's challenge

Organised by The Reading Agency, this year's theme is 'Gadgeteeers' and enthuses children to see science in the everyday. Partnering with the science museum, the challenge focuses on innovation and science we see in the world around us.

Receive some fantastic gifts for reading!

We have some wonderful gifts for this year's challenge - available while stocks last

Register for the challenge, recieve your poster pack, then:

  • Visit 1 -  sticker set 1 and bookmark
  • Visit 2 -  Sticker set 2 and fold up game
  • Visit 3 - Medal, Certificate, sticker and Professor Indexia's Hair Growth Formula

How to take part

  1. Visit your local Hillingdon Library. You will need to be a member of Hillingdon libraries - joining is free and easy
  2. Visit and  borrow books at least 4 times during the summer (we recommend aiming to read at least 6 books).
  3. Collect your gifts as you borrow books from the library! There are 4 visits to complete.
