This year the council processed 3,603 primary school applications.

Daniel Kennedy, Corporate Director of Central Services, said: "I am so proud of the work that has gone into ensuring that children received one of their parents' preferred primary school places in Hillingdon, at their local school.

"It's fantastic that the borough topped the London list for offering children their parents' first preference and that we ranked number one in west London across all preferences.

"The borough has many good and outstanding rated primary schools and I am confident that every child will receive a positive learning experience in Hillingdon."
