West Drayton Cemetery
West Drayton Cemetery is a peaceful site in a residential part of West Drayton, accessible from the main road and motorway.
History
The land where West Drayton Cemetery is situated originally belonged to the Dean and Chapters of St Pauls and was given by Henry VIII to the Pagets and then passed to the De Burghs. In 1935, the land was obtained by The Urban District Council of Yiewsley and West Drayton for £5,325.
In 1936, permission was granted to turn part of the land into a burial ground and, in 1938, permission was granted by the Home Office to use part of the land for Roman Catholic burial. This was expanded in 1969.
