Parking and traffic enforcement

In this section:

Reporting illegally parked vehicles

All reports of illegally parked vehicles are treated confidentially and are attended to as soon as possible. If appropriate, enforcement action is carried out against all offending vehicles.

Report illegally parked vehicles

If you see a vehicle which you suspect to be parked in contravention of the parking restrictions in your road, this can be reported to the enforcement hotline on 01895 271418. The enforcement hotline is operated by APCOA Parking Ltd who undertake parking enforcement on behalf of the council. You can call Monday to Saturday between 6am to 10pm, and on Sundays and bank holidays between 8am to 10pm.

Please note: If the vehicle is parked on a public road and appears to be abandoned (as in it is untaxed or it looks like the owner has no intention of returning to it/or using it again) you can report it as an abandoned vehicle.

Vehicle nuisance on council land only

Where there is a parking issue with a vehicle on council or council housing land, this will be investigated by the Anti-Social Behaviour Team.

Report an illegally parked vehicle on council land only

If you are reporting a vehicle on the highway please contact the Parking Enforcement Team on 01895 271418.

Road safety suggestions

If vehicles are parked dangerously on corners where there are no parking restrictions in place, this should be reported to the safer roads team for investigation. Each suggestion will be investigated and reviewed to establish its validity and the practicality of finding a solution.

Register your concerns or suggestions by downloading the Road Safety Programme suggestion form (PDF) [110KB].
