New Fiesta children's Easter activities programme
Wednesday 4 March: Hillingdon Council is launching its first Easter children's activity programme from Monday 6 to Thursday 9 April and Tuesday 14 to Friday 17 April, with something for everyone aged 7 to 19 years (up to 25 with special needs).
Following the increasing popularity of summer holiday events, the council is expanding its programme to offer a variety of activities for children and young people during the Easter holidays.
The programme will include courses on photography, self defence, football skills, sports, arts, crafts, performance and cooking. Young people can also learn to be a spy for a day, or explore the great outdoors with Woodlands Week at Ruislip Lido.
Musicians and those interested in the music industry can sign up for a four-day course to learn about vocal techniques, record deals and the importance of social media from a tutor who has recorded albums, signed record deals and toured the world for the past 20 years.
A new four-day programme, Land, Air and Space, has been introduced for budding young pilots and astronauts to learn about airports, air traffic control, and how to fly a plane in a flight simulator.
Easter courses will take place at various venues across Hillingdon including the council's young people's centres and open spaces. Families are encouraged to book online from Wednesday 18 March.
Cllr Susan O'Brien, Hillingdon Council's Cabinet Member for Children's Services and Education, said: "We are delighted to offer a new Fiesta Easter holiday activity programme across Hillingdon, with a range of fun and educational activities for children and young people to enjoy. Fiesta courses are offered to local families at an affordable cost during the Easter break and we would advise that you book as early as possible to avoid disappointment."
