Golf maintenance updates

Keeping you up to date with our maintenance programmes for Haste Hill, Ruislip and Uxbridge public golf courses.

Fungicide spraying

Ruislip Public Golf Courses will receive a fungicide application to all greens on Thursday 17 January 2019.

Please ensure you wash your hands and golfing equipment after your round.

We endeavour to keep disruption to a minimum and thank you for your cooperation.

Worm and insect control

In previous years it has been our normal practice to control worms and leather jackets on the playing surfaces on our three public golf courses. However due to EU legislation and the ban on some chemicals in 2017, we are no longer legally able to carry out these control measures.

Available alternative control methods are either ineffective or extremely price prohibitive. We are doing all we can to prevent these affecting the greens but inevitably there is an increase on fairways. The knock on effects of this are that you are likely to encounter more mud under foot and on your golf equipment.

Please take extra care when using wooden foot bridges and tee steps, also refrain from walking down steep tee and green banks. We ask you to help us keep mud off the clubhouse and car park areas by using the provided compressed air cleaners at each course.

Thank you.

Haste Hill Public Golf Course - 1st hole

Turf was laid in late November to bunker surrounds on the 1st hole.

The area remains roped off and out of play, this is to allow for the turf roofs to become fully established. If walked on it can also make the future surface very uneven. We ask golfers to refrain from entering the area, if your ball lands in this area please use a golf club or golf ball retriever to remove your ball.

The overhang is not the finished line; it will be cut to shape once the roots have fully taken.

We expect the turf to be fully established and in play for spring, subject to winter weather and temperatures.

Thank you for your cooperation.
