Harefield Civic Amenity Site

New Years Green Lane, Harefield, UB9 6LX

Harefield Civic Amenity Site is open Monday to Sunday and bank holidays (excluding Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day), 8am to 4pm (8am to 6pm during British summer time).

Residents wishing to use this facility for free must provide proof of address or will be required to pay £10 for each visit.

DIY and building waste

Any waste created by construction or demolition works is classed as industrial waste - even if this is generated from home. You can take DIY and buildling waste to Harefield Civic Amenity Site and pay for it to be disposed of.

Items accepted at this site

All domestic waste (except asbestos) is accepted at Harefield Civic Amenity Site:

  • audio and video tapes, CDs and DVDs
  • cardboard and paper, including books
  • car batteries and car engine oil
  • carpets
  • electrical appliances, such as toasters, irons, washing machines and fridges
  • fluorescent tubes and low energy light bulbs
  • glass bottles and jars
  • garden waste
  • garden chemicals (with hazard symbols)
  • hard plastics
  • household batteries
  • household paints
  • mattresses
  • metal food and drink cans
  • rubble and stone
  • scrap metal
  • sofas
  • televisions and computer display screens
  • textiles (clothes and shoes)
  • vegetable oil
  • wood, including furniture
