London-wide increase of fines for illegal parking
Monday 24 March 2025: Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) for parking and traffic breaches will increase in Hillingdon and all other London boroughs from Monday 7 April to ensure they remain effective deterrents and incentivise motorists to park and drive safely.

In Hillingdon, penalty charges for higher level parking contraventions, such as obstructing roads will increase by £30 to £140 (Band B), reducing to £70 if paid within 14 days from the date of issue.
And for those at a lower level, for matters such as overstaying in a pay and display parking bay, increase by £30 to £90 (Band B), reduced to £45 if paid within 14 days from the date of issue.
Bus lane and moving traffic contraventions in Hillingdon will also increase by £30 to £160 each.
Within the capital there are currently two levels for charging for parking fines. Band A is the higher level and Band B the lower level. Hillingdon currently uses Band B.
The council has a legal duty to ensure any net revenue raised by PCNs in the borough is reinvested in traffic and transport schemes, such as highways improvements and maintenance.
Cllr Eddie Lavery, Hillingdon Council's Cabinet Member for Community and Environment, said: "Keeping our residents safe is a key priority, and this includes ensuring roads and public parking is accessible for everyone.
"Residents and visitors who abide by the rules will be unaffected. The new charges are necessary to ensure that PCNs remain as a deterrent for the small minority of inconsiderate and dangerous drivers on our roads."
