Free to attend, the outdoor event takes place from 11.30am to 5pm on Record Walk and Material Walk, the streets surrounding the Old Vinyl Factory, Hayes, UB3 1DP.

The festival, the first of its kind in the borough, is part of the council's wider commitment to further developing town centres, creating a thriving economy and safe and strong communities.

It pays tribute to the legendary Old Vinyl Factory, once home to EMI Records, bringing together young and emerging talent, established artists, and local community groups to showcase the full spectrum of Hayes' musical and cultural scene.

Funded by the Mayor of London's Good Growth Fund, the festival will have a range of live music performances curated by the Hanwell Hootie Music Festival, from local artists across many genres to reflect the unique musical heritage of Hayes.

Students from the Global Academy will also be performing throughout the day, while others will use the festival as an opportunity to develop their skills in multimedia production and events management by supporting behind-the-scenes.

There will also be food and drink stalls hosted by businesses based in the borough supported by T&T Markets and a record fair organised by vinyl enthusiasts, Groove Seekers.

Cllr Steve Tuckwell, Hillingdon Council's Cabinet Member for Planning, Housing and Growth, said: "To ensure our town centres across the borough remain thriving hubs in the heart of the community, it's important we adapt to the changing needs of residents and visitors.

"The festival aims to bring communities together to celebrate the vast history of Hayes and the Old Vinyl Factory.

"The area has exciting potential as a hub for business, creative industries and economic growth.

"A key part of realising that is ensuring the next generation are equipped with the right skills, and it's fantastic this event will help to nurture young local talent.

"There will be something for everyone, so make sure to come down and join us."

Attendees are encouraged to travel to the event using public transport.
