Council introduces measures to stop illegal car meets
Friday 7 March 2025: Hillingdon Council has installed traffic calming measures in two roads to curb anti-social behaviour (ASB) from illegal car meets.

At Pasadena Close, three raised tables have been installed along a 216-metre length of the road. While in Arundel Road, three sets of traffic cushions have been built along a 148-metre stretch. Cushions were chosen at this location due to the high number of HGVs using it and can be straddled by the lorries without impeding them.
The council has been working alongside the Met Police to monitor these unauthorised events, which are organised and well attended by enthusiasts and spectators but often feature drivers racing one another or doing other dangerous manoeuvres.
The new measures will deter or prevent racing or dangerous driving and help to keep people safe and free of nuisance behaviour.
Cllr Eddie Lavery, Hillingdon Council's Cabinet Member for Community and Environment, said: "We've been working closely with the police, TfL and local businesses to tackle this ASB and these new calming measures will not only help make these locations less desirable for these events but also keep residents and businesses safe and free of noise and disturbance."
