Council launches Next Gen activities programme for young people
Wednesday 19 February 2025: Hillingdon Council has launched an exciting new youth offer and associated marketing campaign, Next Gen, to reflect the diverse and flexible needs of children and young people.

The new offer was launched today (Wednesday 19 February) at Harlington Young People's Centre by Cllr Susan O'Brien, Hillingdon Council's Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Education and the Mayor of Hillingdon, Cllr Colleen Sullivan.
It will complement the wider early help and prevention services and use existing council buildings and family hubs, along with more street-based and outreach work to support young people. The number of services provided has also increased, offering more opportunities at flexible times, to support personal, social, and educational development, and improve wellbeing.
Children and young people can stay up to date with Next Gen by following the new TikTok channel showcasing the activities on offer, which includes radio-controlled car racing, film making and sports.
Cllr O'Brien said: "As part of our work to create safe and strong communities and thriving, healthy households the council has developed a more flexible approach to delivering youth services using feedback from local young people.
"I'm delighted to see the launch of our new youth offer and the Next Gen campaign, which showcases the wide range of activities we provide. It ensures our services remain relevant for children and young people and are delivered where they can best access these. Please do encourage your children to follow our new TikTok channel to see how they can get involved.
"Our offer is a fantastic way for them to enjoy healthy, active and independent lives. It's easy to take part and there really is something for everyone to enjoy."
