Help shape the new vision for Uxbridge
Friday 29 November, 2024: Residents and businesses are being invited to share their views on Hillingdon Council's draft Uxbridge Vision which sets out plans to revitalise the town centre to help address the changing needs of the area.
The vision has four key themes:
- public realm improvement - creating new spaces to encourage visitors and support businesses
- new activities - pop-up shops, collaborative workspaces and exhibitions that bring new organisations to the town centre
- better links - improving connections to the surrounding areas
- more town centre living - more opportunities to live in the town centre by providing a mix of high-quality housing options.
Cllr Steve Tuckwell, Hillingdon Council's Cabinet Member for Planning, Housing and Growth, said: "We want to make Uxbridge an even better place to live, work, study and do business and ensure it continues to succeed long into the future. We've already seen a recent influx of new businesses to the high street and the vision aims to continue this and further help our local economy to thrive.
"The draft Uxbridge Town Centre Vision has been developed with the community and businesses to address the issues and needs of local people, and I encourage residents and businesses to tell us what they think. The feedback will inform our approach to delivering improvements and applications for funding."
The consultation is open until Friday 28 February. The final draft will then be considered next year by the council's Cabinet.
