The free event, organised by Hillingdon Council, promises an afternoon full of live music and performances on the park's bandstand stage and a range of activities for residents of all ages.

There will be performances by the Hillingdon Music Service brass, steel and junior bands, Queensmead School in Ruislip, Barnhill Community High School in Hayes, and from the Candy Girls.

There will also be sports activities, face painting, Punch and Judy shows, inflatable fun, and arts and crafts for children.

Visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic and something to sit on to enjoy the entertainment.

Representatives from the council's family hubs, libraries, children's centres and adult learning teams will also be supporting the picnic with additional activities and information stalls.

The 20-acre park also boasts ornamental lawns, a children's playground and multi-use games area for visitors to explore and enjoy.

Cllr Sullivan said: "I'm thrilled to be hosting this year's Picnic in the Park.

"Picnics continue to be a popular summer pastime and I'm looking forward to bringing communities, families and friends together at this event to share food, and enjoy the free entertainment and activities on offer.

"This annual event celebrates the borough's diverse cultures and heritage and will be a great opportunity for me to meet local people and celebrate the wealth of local talent in one of our beautiful award-winning Green Flag parks."
