UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF)

The UKSPF is a local authority funding programme where money is dedicated to helping the UK grow by investing in communities, places, businesses, people and skills as a central part of the government's Levelling Up agenda.

The UKSPF is being invested into a number of projects and schemes, including enhancing local facilities, employment training and 3 business support programmes.


Enhancing local facilities 

More than £280,000 has been invested in delivering:

  • high-quality refurbishments to children's play areas in Fassnidge Park and Stockley Recreation Ground
  • a new play area in Cranford Park (as part of the wider restoration of the site). 

Business support programmes

We have 3 different support programmes to help businesses in Hillingdon:

Supplier readiness programme

Our supplier readiness programme aims to help 100 local SMEs:

  • expand their reach and connections
  • enhance their skills and capability to bid for contracts at Hillingdon Council, construction projects, Heathrow Airport, and local large buyers
  • have all the necessary paperwork for supplying goods to the wider industry.

The programme will be delivered by Branduin Business Support and will include:

  • specialist skills training workshops
  • Meet the Buyer events
  • confidential one-to-one tender business advice sessions to help identify and overcome key challenges and master bid writing.

General business support programme

Our general business support programme will provide 160 Hillingdon companies with one-to-one support and industry knowledge through workshops, which will give information and guidance on:

  • building and running a website
  • better promoting your business across social media platforms
  • turning low 'scores on the doors' food hygiene ratings around.

Food safety programme

If you're a small business in Hillingdon, and are rated 3 or below under the Food Hygiene Rating Scheme, you can enrol onto our food safety programme to get help with:

  • face-to-face coaching on food hygiene and safety
  • marketing and sales management
  • preventing money loss
  • staff training
  • re-rating visits
  • legal requirements for hygiene and allergen information.

Employment support training and courses

UKSPF have funded several projects to support Hillingdon residents, to gain employment or support their chances of securing employment.

SEETEC 

SEETEC is an employment and skills training specialist that works with unemployed adults. They can help you develop employment skills and overcome barriers to work.

Learn Hillingdon

Learn Hillingdon offers a range of courses to help improve your skills and gain confidence and knowledge.

  • Digital courses - learn basic digital skills for different devices, such as computers and tablets
  • ESOL course - gain essential English language skills to help you communicate in the workplace.

Hillingdon Autistic Care (HACS)

HACS provides support for residents with learning difficulties and autism to secure employment.

The support HACS provides will work alongside our council project search programme, which provides work experience placements for people with learning difficulties.
