New strategy continues to put Hillingdon residents first
Friday 18 November 2022: Hillingdon Council's four-year Council Strategy was agreed at last night's Full Council meeting (Thursday 17 November).
The document outlines the council's five commitments to residents: safe and strong communities; thriving, healthy households; a green and sustainable borough; a thriving economy and a digital-enabled, modern, well-run council. It also sets out the council's priorities within these commitments and how they will be delivered.
The draft strategy was consulted on during the summer, where residents, partners, businesses and community groups had their say on the council's proposals. More than 350 responses were received, and comments were largely positive and supportive of the council's vision, commitments and priorities.
The council's select committees, Cabinet and Full Council also considered all the feedback and reviewed the final draft as part of the consultation process.
The Leader of Hillingdon Council, Cllr Ian Edwards, said: "I'd like to thank everyone who took part in the consultation and for providing us with useful feedback which has helped to strengthen our new strategy.
"This document sets out our course for the next four years and provides us with an overarching framework for council policy, business planning and performance management.
"We remain committed to providing local people with strong leadership, sound financial management as well as ensuring that we transform how we work to sustain our high-quality core services and facilities."
